All You Need is Loire

For this workshop, we will explore the wines of Joseph Mellot, one of the Loire Valley’s most prestigious producers, with a 500-year family history. 

This interactive tasting will take you on a journey through the Loire’s diverse regions — Pays Nantais, Anjou-Saumur, Touraine, and across to Sancerre in the Centre-Val de Loire region  — showcasing the elegance, minerality, and unique character of both its white and red wines.  We’ll be enjoying six exceptional wines, gaining insights into terroir, winemaking, and food pairings, this informal and informative wine workshop is perfect for anyone with an interest in wine.

The Format

Starting at 6.30pm, the tasting will last just over an hour with plenty of time for questions.  Afterwards we’ll enjoy some cheese and charcuterie nibbles, another glass of wine and a chat before finishing at 8.30pm.

As with all our wine tastings, the aim is that it’s a relaxed, fun, informal and informative evening. Come on your own or with a friend, whatever your interest or knowledge of wine everyone who enjoys wine is welcome.

This masterclass and tasting will be presented by Wine Events Scotland’s Diana Thompson at The Hotel du Vin in their stunning private dining and events space, the Burke & Hare Room.
