From the elegant, oak-aged reds of Rioja to the vibrant whites of Rueda and the Atlantic freshness of Rías Baixas, this relaxed and engaging masterclass explores the remarkable diversity of northern Spain. Along the way you'll taste a carefully selected range of wines, learn what makes each region unique and discover why these wines continue to win the hearts of wine lovers around the world.

Either way, this is the ideal opportunity to take a deeper dive into Rioja, Rueda and Rías Baixas, compare their distinctive styles and discover why each has become one of Spain's most celebrated wine regions.

Throughout the tasting, award-winning wine communicator and Wine Events Scotland founder Diana Thompson will guide you through the tasting, sharing the stories behind each wine, explaining how climate and winemaking influence style and offering plenty of practical food pairing inspiration.

Whether you're looking to broaden your knowledge or simply enjoy some excellent wines in good company, you'll leave inspired to explore more of what northern Spain has to offer.

The Format

The evening begins at 6.30pm with a guided tasting lasting just over an hour, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions along the way. Afterwards, relax with cheese and charcuterie nibbles and enjoy another glass of wine while chatting with fellow guests before we finish at 8.30pm.

As always, with our tasting the focus is on enjoying a relaxed, fun and informal atmosphere. Come on your own or with friends - everyone is welcome, whether you’re just starting your wine journey or already a wine fanatic.
