Another hugely popular wine evening on the mezzanine at Le Di-Vin. The wines we tasted were from small producers in Australia's premium wine growing regions such as Clare, Yarra, Eden and Hunter Valleys. We also enjoyed some iconic Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra and Barossa Valley Shiraz as well as a Sparkling Shiraz. A Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon was tasted blind which created some great competition from the two people who guessed it correctly. They both then had to taste 6 more wines “blind” before one of them was crowned the outright winner. To add some more fun, I had slipped in Artan Chardonnay which had just been launched as part of Lidl’s Wine Tour. I changed the price on the tasting sheet from £4.79 to £15.99 and gave it a different stockist. Interestingly the wine stacked up very well next to those ranging from £15-£35.
