Fizz Feast Taster - Croatian Fine Wines

As part of the run-up to our fourth annual Fizz Feast on Saturday 16 November at Edinburgh Academy, we’re giving you a brief introduction to the fabulous food and fizz exhibitors lined up to tantalise taste buds and please palates.

In our bid to continually bring new and exciting exhibitors to Fizz Feast, we are delighted to welcome Croatian Fine Wines for the first time.

Established in 2011, this still-young company started out with the aim of introducing exciting new wines from Croatia to the UK. The company is dedicated to building lasting relationships with interesting producers who have a passion for their wines, quality and for the environment.

As interest in Croatian wines has started to increase rapidly, the company has grown its portfolio, introducing wine not only from Croatia, but Slovenia and Bosnia too. The company imports wine from small wine producers who have vineyards of around 20 hectares or less, so you will always find something new and exciting.

Croatian Fine Wines is bringing a fantastic selection of Slovenian wines to Fizz Feast. From pioneering family firm Istenic – the first private company in Slovenia to produce sparkling wine using the traditional bottle fermented sparkling method (like Champagne). Try Istenic Barbara NV, which is made with 50% Chardonnay, 30% Rumeni Plavec and 20% Laski Rizling to create a crisp, green-apple wine with biscuit notes and fine, long-lasting bubbles - perfect as an aperitif or to raise a celebratory glass. The Istenic Gourmet Rosé is an extra dry rosé sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir, which gives the wine a full flavour. The latest exciting news is that this fabulous fizz has made it to the finals of The People's Choice Wine Awards!  The Istenic Prestige Extra Brut 2011 is another traditional bottle fermented fizz not to be missed which has great complexity and depth, bursting with honey, lemon and apple characters, which is perfect to enjoy at special occasions – just in time for the festive season!

Fizz Feast is is a true Celebration of Sparkling Wine & Artisan Food on Saturday 16 November 2019 at The Edinburgh Academy, 42 Henderson Row, Edinburgh.

There are two sessions to choose from: 12-3pm and 4-7pm, and plenty of masterclasses.
