As part of the run-up Fizz Feast on Saturday 19 November at Edinburgh Academy, now in its sixth year, we’re giving you a brief introduction to the fabulous feast and fizz exhibitors lined up to tantalise taste buds and please palates.
This year we’re delighted to welcome new exhibitor Mionetto Prosecco DOC to the Fizz Hall.
Dating from 1887, when master wine-maker Francesco Mionetto established this winery in the hills of Valdobbiadene, in the heart of Prosecco country, Mionetto has been producing Prosecco with passion.
In 1982, the Mionetto family changed to use the Charmat method of fermentation, which better preserves the flavours and aromas of Prosecco. Working in partnership with local producers who have supplied grapes for generations, there is authenticity, heart and history across the winemaking process.

Internationally recognised for producing excellent Prosecco, Mionetto is passionate about sharing the joy of this sparkling wine. With a fresh, simple style, Prosecco’s light bubbles make it a perfect aperitif and a wonderful drink to be enjoyed in the company of friends and family. It is a sparkling wine that is very much at the heart of the Italian lifestyle.
‘This is a wonderful opportunity to compare and contrast a delicious prosecco with a rose prosecco from the same producer, which has a long history of producing award-winning prosecco. The Mionetto Prosecco Rosé has a very pretty light pinky-peach colour and a gorgeous fruity bouquet,’ explains Fizz Feast founder Diana Thompson.

‘Presented in beautifully shaped bottle, this sparkling has a real party feel about it, both in looks and taste!’ she adds. Fizz Feast is on Saturday 19 November 2022 at The Edinburgh Academy, 42 Henderson Row, Edinburgh. There are two sessions to choose from: 12-3pm and 4-7pm, and plenty of masterclasses. Tickets start at £25 per person. Click here to join us
