As part of the run-up Fizz Feast on Saturday 19 November at Edinburgh Academy, now in its sixth year, we’re giving you a brief introduction to the fabulous feast and fizz exhibitors lined up to tantalise taste buds and please palates.

This year we’re delighted to welcome new exhibitor Vino Fandango to the Fizz Hall. A small, family-run, independent wine merchant based in the pretty Perthshire village of Comrie, Vino Fandango is well-known for the diversity of its wines, available online and from its base at Cultybraggan Camp.

We are delighted to welcome Vino Fandango to Fizz Feast for the first time and excited to see what this innovative wine merchant has on offer. Founded by Alan Chapman, who started out in the wine trade in 1982, this is an indie merchant always on the lookout for new and interesting wines. ‘I started our business in late 2020 – so this will be our first Fizz Feast – and we’re very excited at being involved,’ Alan explains. ‘What I enjoy about these events is interacting with consumers and hearing what they are drinking and what they are looking for,’ he adds. ‘I also love hearing about the many and varied events they are buying fizz for! I’m sure Diana will have accumulated a bunch of enthusiastic wine drinkers at Edinburgh Academy for us to get to know.

‘We are bringing a selection of our fizz range, from basic everyday sparkling wines to premium Champagne. I’m really interested to get a reaction from the attendees and also get their views on a couple of fizz things that have happened through lockdown – namely Prosecco Rose and the current Pet Nat trend.’ Look out for Sauvion Cremant de Loire Brut- NV, an increasingly popular alternative to Champagne made in the same Traditional Method but with a fresher, younger style. Wonderful English sparkler Exton Park RB|32 Brut – NV, and the award-winning Pierre Moncuit Cuvée Brut Rosé Grand Cru Mesnil – NV to name just a few.

Fizz Feast is on Saturday 19 November 2022 at The Edinburgh Academy, 42 Henderson Row, Edinburgh. There are two sessions to choose from: 12-3pm and 4-7pm, and plenty of masterclasses. Tickets start at £25 per person.  Click here to join us
